2020 Smart China Expo Online to Commence in Chongqing
The 2020 Smart China Expo Online (SCE OL) will be held online to ensure epidemic prevention and control. Running from 15 to 17 September, the SCE OL will be delivered through a series of conferences, exhibitions, contests, forums and product releases held in Chongqing.
Singapore’s Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTII) steps up as an event organizer this year event. Where Singapore was a guest of honor at the 2019 SCE, this year it will serve as co-host.
Integrating Online and Offline Platforms
The opening ceremony will be broadcast live on September 15th through the official internet platform. World-renowned scientists, heads of international organizations, and industry leaders will gather to discuss the latest cutting-edge trends and industry developments.
The exhibition model will feature an innovative online display platform on the official website, with focus on smart products, manufacturing, smart cities, and other fields.
On the official Smart China Expo Online website, there will be six virtual exhibition areas called Chongqing Online, Smart Products, Smart Applications, Smart Technology, and Regional Cooperation. Over 300 world-renowned companies in the big data industry have been invited to participate.
SCE OL will also have an offline presence in the form of two small-scale boutique pavilions in the Lijia Intelligent Park Chongqing, called the Smart Manufacturing Town and Smart City.

Following a year of hard work, over 42,000 5G base stations have been installed in Chongqing, accounting for more than 10% of the nationwide total. In just a few years, Chongqing has concentrated the advantages of supportive government policy, excellent logistics, convenient transportation, access to international expertise, with industry pilot and demonstration zones where the latest innovations are quickly turned to practical application.
This year SCE OL will continue to lead trends in technology. AR, MR, XR, and other technologies will be widely used throughout the conference.
